It’s one of the best benefits I get from yoga. I found Leeann Carey has an awesome free yoga video on shoulder stretches that I thought your readers might like: http://www.planetyoga.com/y...

Re: Head to Knee Pose / Dandayamana-Janushirasana

Revolved head to knee pose is one of the more simple looking poses, but can still be very challenging. This is the reason why the health of human body depends on the health of tissues. According to physiology, there are three conditions of health of the different tissues of the human body. These are:-

i) Constant supply of proper nourishment and of the internal secretions of the endocrine glands,
ii) Effective removal of waste products; and

iii) Healthy functioning of the nerve-connections. Cultural poses are fully capable of fulfilling these conditions."
The practice of Yoga Exercises or Yoga Asanas can improve your health, increase your resistance, and develop your mental awareness.
Yoga Postures | Poses - Step by Step Guidance

Suraksha
http://sktegta.com
http://atmabodh.net

Re: Yoga for the face and neck.

Enjoyed this - I'm teaching a face & neck class next week and will use some of these. You have a lot to do caring for a new child, looking after a toddler, working full time and recovering yourself. Often it is the recovering ourselves that we pay least attention to! 4 months should be a good time to start yoga in a slow and easy manner and you can build from there. I would advise you check with your doctor that it is ok to begin gentle exercise. Take a look at the first few yoga baby episodes - you can download through itunes or watch at blip.tv - just type in 'yoga baby 1' or 'yoga baby 2' for example. I would begin without thinking about weight, just about feeling more refreshed and relaxed and your muscles need time to recover so you cannot push yourself. Combining gentle stretches and yoga poses with good nutrition should make you feel better in just days. If you feel heacy and sluggish, cut out or cut back on foods that look heavy and sluggish such as cheese, eggs, meat and so on. Make such you get good food such as beans, lentils, veggies etc. I have some good veggie recipes (I am vegan but know veggie recipes too as I only went vegan after I had my second child). I would also suggest you get your iron levels checked, these can be low after birth and could be making you more tired. IF they are low, try natural rather than pills, make sure you eat things like spinach, almonds (I drink Guinness as I have low iron and that really helps me - one per week keeps me off the doctors iron tablets!). I will be strating to offer personalised plans soon so maybe if you need more detailed information I can help out with that. Good luck, give your kids a big hug and remember to make just a little time for you in there!

Re: Starting yoga after the birth?

I had my first child on normal delivery, She is now 4yrs. I don't know if this is really relevant to your post, but I wanted to share this because I got some good tips from it. I found this report about mistakes that a lot of practitioners make that can hinder their professional growth. Just GOOGLE Booming 10 Mistakes and you will find a BoomingTV link. So I thought I'd pass on the details since you can get the report for free here: http://www.boomingtv.com/is...

Re: So bored of facebook. There are no real interesting information and updates are most of the times useless. Together with some friends, we are trying to solve this problem with our new web project: TellaWorld. Check it out, we are going to launch it in the next few days.

http://www.tellaworld.com

Re: Butterfly / Purna Titali Asana

Hi Caroline, I would advise watching the shows, however, they are made more with Mom in mind. Babies are natural yogis and as you will know, gain huge benefits, not just from the physical stretching and movement but also from spending this quality time with Mummy. There are some good books you can get specifically focussing on the baby and the benefits from each movement (The Baby Om and Itsy Bitsy books could be really useful to have for reference in your teaching). I am a qualified Hatha Teacher and although I did study baby yoga, gained most of my baby yoga training from my children. I always believe yoga is a personal activity which evolves to your needs and try and take into account all the different styles of yoga teaching to find what works best and this will differ from person to person and baby to baby! Good luck with the teaching, I am sure you find it valuable and a whole lot of fun!
